We welcome you to Bristol Bulldogs Youth Football & Cheer (BYFC)! We offer a safe, fun and exciting Cheer program where young athletes interested in Cheerleading can learn the fundamentals, further their skills and participate in the sport.
No previous cheer experience is required to join BYFC. Tumbling experience is not required though we do encourage all cheerleaders to participate either during season or off season tumbling classes to build strength, stamina and confidence. Competitive Cheer offers a focused practice schedule that starts in August and continues 2-3 days per week throughout the season. Keep in mind additional practices may be required and added to the schedule as competition dates near.
Cheer is a large & rewarding commitment; please understand all that is involved.
We offer three Competitive Cheer Teams:
8 & Under Competition Squad- Registration $200 (Must be age 5 before 7/31/2017)
10 & Under Competition Squad- Registration $200
14 & Under Competition Squad- Registration $200

Cheer uniforms are the property of BYFC which include: a vest, skirt, and poms. Our uniform sizes vary we will try our best to fit your cheerleader with an appropriately sized uniform. It is your responsibility to properly maintain the uniform throughout the season with regular cleaning and care. All uniforms must be returned back to the Head Coach by the end of cheer season.
Cheerleaders will be responsible for personal cheer items such as: briefs, turtleneck, white ankle socks, all white cheer sneakers, cheer warm ups (jacket and pants), cheer bow(s) and duffle-bag. Information to purchase these items will be given to all parents during conditioning week.
Once registered, you will receive email notifications as well as access to your Teamwall Portal. Your Head Coach will be you first point of contact for cheer related questions.
No athlete will be allowed to participate until ALL REQUIRED PAPERWORK is COMPLETED & SUBMITTED, there are NO exceptions!

Make sure all information on your account is complete and up to date as it will auto fill into your forms
Click on "print forms" next to your child's name as well as yours if you are volunteering
Medical Clearance form must be signed and stamped by your child's pediatrician and must be dated after January 1, 2017
We will also need a copy of your child's final semester (June) report card
We will also need to hold on to your child's raised seal birth certificate for our team book. Please make your own copy. This is required in order to compete. The birth certificate will be returned to you at the end of the season when your child’s uniform is turned in.
Practices & Games:
Practice will be at the Casey Field 101 Lake Avenue, Bristol, CT 06010. As the weather gets colder & competition season commences practice will be at a rental facility (TBD).
Conditioning week is required by the American Youth Cheer Association to prepare for each football and cheer season. Cheerleaders will be taught and practice proper conditioning exercises. Conditioning week usually begins at the start of August.
All practices are mandatory. Your Head Coach will provide you with a practice schedule at the start of the season. If you should or will miss practice(s) please discuss this with your Head Coach as soon as possible.
Games are primarily every Sunday or Saturday based on the schedule of the particular football team(s) you will be cheering for. Your Head Coach will provide you with a game schedule.
Cheer camps & clinics may be offered prior to and/or during the Cheer season and may require additional cost but are not mandatory just encouraged. Information regarding dates and cost will be given to parents upon booking.
